Gee, Hamid, I hope you're not  saying that those of us who have the
experimental version of the SFS EFIS don't have reliable hardware because it
didn't cost enough.  Suffice it to say that when buying on the experimental
side some of us choose to take advantage of lower cost associated with non
certified equipment.  I think  when we do this we accept the notion that
there may be bugs - or the equipment may not live up to our specifications,
but we believe that jumping through FAA hoops doesn't always mean the
equipment will perform better than the one that didn't make the jumps and
costs less.

I for one am thankful that Jim Cameron and others like him are looking at
the alternatives - then sharing their experiences.  I'd hate to think that
your admonition against the reliability of low cost hardware is realistic in
terms of cause and effect.  We'd all have to throw out lots of equipment and
stop listening to people like Bob Nucholls, Bob Archer and Brent Regan when
they say they think they have a better and less expensive idea for wiring,
for antennas or for batteries.

Regards,
John Barrett
