Bill hi,Ican understand your confusion.I should have refered to the
drawings myself.The main spar is aft of the fuel bays not forward,so in
that case you would have been drilling into the tanks.So you drill your
holes aft of the main spar,and forward of the forward shear web.Also it
would be a good idea to keep the holes closest to the inboard end of each
bay,example would be if drilling between BL39 and BL54.5 your hole would be
approx. BL 43. I extended my tanks to BL120 so I drilled a couple of holes
aft of the main spar and outboard of BL120.
This example is of a lancair E.S.,if you have a lancair 1V (correct me if I
am wrong)you have fuel in the forward D section of the wing,so you wouldn't
want to drill there,but aft and outboard drilling would do the trick.After
you are done fill the holes with micro.
