Gary Casey,

IMHO, you have a problem that must be found and fixed. I used an old
altimeter plumbed to my tanks (individually) and pressurized to a couple
psi. This produced a negative indication on the gauge, of course, but
produced an easily noted reading. Each time I checked the altimeter, I set
the ambient pressure adjustment per the local ATIS. My tanks held pressure
with essentially no bleed-down for 5 - 6 days each. Testing was terminated
when I grew tired of looking at the same numbers. My tanks have never so
much as shown a damp spot so I believe one must strive for as close to zero
leak-down as possible.

When I was building, the recommended method to seal the tank filler hole was
to use a plastic coffee can lid (or equivalent) stuck down with Bondo. When
the testing was done, the plastic was easily peeled off and the Bondo was
easy to sand off afterwards.

I'm not familiar with the tankage on the ES but I'll bet the factory has
faced this before and can provide some guidance on a fix.

Good luck,

Dan Schaefer
