I want to measure the glide performance of my 360. When I bring the engine slowly back to idle and begin a glide at 105 kts with the mixture at full rich, the engine starts backfiring. Is this an indication of a too lean idle mixture?
What is the best glide performance for a typical 360? When measuring this performance, is there any problem with pulling the prop all the way back (I've never tried this in any of the other planes I've flown)? What RPM can I expect to see with the prop all the way back? Thanks for the help.
