It holds 10 rounds and with 2 of them you would be able to deliver 20 rounds of 12 ga firepower. Now you really have to think about the type of birds you may encounter. I would say the larger ones are of the most concern such as ducks and geeese so I would select a 3 in magnum 12 ga shell with 1-1/2 oz of number 6 bird shot. These firing at the same time would deliver one 36 in pattern at 40 yards with the shot moving at 1100 FPS. Now where to mount them. Why not build them into the wing? Then just ground test them so that their aim points cross at the optimum pattern spread range which is 40 yards. The other electronic options for auto detection and auto firing should be left to the experts but as far as insurance, I don't think you have much risk from the Avian Litigators or their families trying to "Duck" you over!! :) If we can get this perfected I am pretty sure Greyhawk, and friends, will want to organize a lancair skeetshoot at OSH or SNF so we could change an entrance fee and donate the proceeds to ducks unlimited and all remain politically correct! Happy Hunting.
