I used a lot of Spot Lite (a PPG auto body filler) for the same reasons.
Additionally, the different color makes the body work easier.  However,
it is a little softer and I am concluding that areas of higher stress
need micro.  Specifically, any leading edge and any part of the cowling
deserve the micro.
