That moratorium is on new policies written under the EAA Insurance Plan by Avemco Insurance Company. It was put in place after reported losses in Avemco=E2=80=99s homebuilt insurance business. =E2=80=9CWe are asking for data and answers to back up these reported losses= ,=E2=80=9D EAA President Tom Poberezny said. =E2=80=9CTo leave large groups of homebuilt ai= rcraft without coverage is simply unacceptable. It is absolutely essential that we know if there are any problems with particular models of homebuilt aircraft and how that affects coverage for the entire homebuilt community. =E2=80=9CWhen similar situations in insurance coverage have emerged in the p= ast, EAA has met the challenges to keep our members=E2=80=99 aircraft flying. EAA is=20= just as committed now to finding solutions and securing coverage across the broad spectrum of aircraft flown by our members.=E2=80=9D The moratorium was suddenly announced little more than a week ago by Avemco. Since that point, EAA staff members have been in continual contact with Avemco representatives, requesting data and background, and will be meeting with the company to find possible solutions to the situation.>>> SNP>> A week ago??? I don't think so. I talked to Earl Lawrence at EAA about this=20 last fall after being cancelled by AVEMCO.=20 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> LML website: http://members.olsusa.com/mkaye/maillist.html LML Builders' Bookstore: http://www.buildersbooks.com/lancair Please remember that purchases from the Builders' Bookstore assist with the management of the LML.
