Since I've been considering the turbine for more than a year now, I stayed away from anything forward of the spar box and also left all possible space just behind the rear pressure bulkhead for extra fuel. I've also done everything possible to avoid unnecessary weight. With the LIVP maximum takeoff weight limited to 3550 lbs, weight is a major limiting factor in the range of a LIVPT. I figure that my wife & I, 100 lbs baggage in the back seat and 140 gal of JetA can stay within the weight and balance limits. At this point I have the standard wing tanks. So, given the 10 gal sump tank that comes with the turbine setup, I can either wet out the aft wing bays (20 gal, Mike Custard has recently just done this on a LIVPT) and put a 20 gal tank behind the pressure bulkhead, or just put in a 40 gal tank. At this point I'm planning on the former option. This should give me a 950-1000 nm range with a 30 gal reserve. What are other LIVPT builders doing?
