Now, that being said, I would request that Mr. Dorworth provide some back-up scientific data for this statement. I would like to get a reference to a controlled test where oil and mold release contaminated samples were prepared with Acetone and Isopropyl Alcohol and the coupons subjected to pulling tests until failure. Dan Schaeffer has performed these tests using MeCl2 and found that the parent substrate failed first. He did his homework. I am familiar with the coupon test. I performed it as a budding chemist at Sundstrand Aviation in the early sixties on aluminum coupons bonded with epoxy. So, I ask Mr. Dorworth to provide us with a copy of a paper or a reference that shows substrate failure first when Acetone or IPA is used--particularly on oily and release contaminated surfaces of fiber glass or carbon fiber. Such a reference would set my mind at ease.
