Well it looks like have done it again "inserted foot in mouth".
I have no "hard" evidence related to the use of Acetone vs MC except what I have
read on this list and an experiment I set up in my shop. There is not any grease
used on the Lancair molds and shouldn't be any grease on the parts that come
from the factory mostly ready for bonding. I can only state that I did try
cleaning up "grease" off of glass with acetone and it smeared it around. MC took
it right off. But like others have pointed out, there should not not be any
grease on the parts so Acetone probably will work for prepping an area for
bonding, along with sanding. As Curtis said "The most important thing is not
which cleaner you use, but the process that you use to create the bond." Well
said.
