My understanding is that you need to affix the ELT on a solid foundation so it will not tear away and be damaged or tear off the antenna lead. That ELT may be the one device that saves your life. Read the instructions for mounting and make sure it is securly fastened. I mounted mine on the hat shelf, clearly visible, on the harness hard point. You could to the same and mount it on the underside of the hat shelf, if you so desire to obscure it from view. Make sure that the lead in wires will not be damaged in a sudden decelleration. Mounting on the hatshelf gets the CG forward of the aft locations heretofore mentioned, which is highly desirable in the LNC2s.
