While this may be true for some policies, there are at least two ways 
too deal with this. One is to increase the "personal property" limits on 
the policy and the second is to get a "declared value rider". The latter 
uses the same mechanism that you would use if you purchased an Au 
embellishment for the spouse if it's value exceeded the jewelry limit on 
your policy.

Side note: If you are married and have never purchased something for the 
spouse that justifies insurance considerations and you are building an 
airplane then I would suspect that you may have problems in your future 
unrelated to insurance.

A long married couple were walking down the street when the wife caught 
the husband admiring an attractive woman walking the other way. After 
they pass the wife whispers to the husband "Remember dear, she will get 
a quarter of everything you own."

Bottom line, check with your agent. Odds are that adding coverage (if 
required) to your homeowners will be cheaper than a whole new aerospace 
policy (and a nice lady's Rolex will make you a lot happier than a 
second transponder ;-) .)
