I made a shelf out of aluminum with flanges and taped the shelf to the sidewall with 1 bid fiberglass. It feels very solid. I would be glad to send pictures if you like. I made a dipole antenna and glued it to the inside of the tail as far as I could crawl back, though Scott Krugers Z-shaped comm. antenna sounds like a better idea as it might go further back. Even though I separated them as far apart as I could, my com antenna talked to the ELT originally and made it fire. I had to ran a heavy ground line strait from the battery to the ELT which solved the problem. If you can, keep them as far apart and out of line as you can. After I got my antennas in I had a guy come and check them with a meter. It was well worth it, as several of the antennas were very weak and needed to be redone.
