I'm looking for suggestions on how to best finish up the wingtip light
mounts and lenses for my ES. (I believe the IV is the same.) The manual says
that the lens and light mount should be attached to the wingtip with screws.
A few builders have told me they just permanently bonded the mount onto the
wingtip. This is attractive, because the fit of the light mount onto the
wingtip is not very good. Other than having to take off the wingtip to get
to the wiring and fuel tank vent, this sounds like a good idea. Also, the
lens is not flush with the wingtip surface (the lens is below the surface of
the wingtip.) The manual says to use cork washers to expand the lens to make
it flush, but that doesn't seem very classy. Any reason not to build up the
mount with micro?

Thanks,

Joe Santos
