Gary Hunter (the Shell Chemical "Answer Man" for Epoxy Resins for 25 years),
says "preferably 70-80F - absolutely nothing below 65F." "Temperature
effects: Viscosity - which effects: Wet out - which effects: Resin/glass
ratio - which effects: Part weight and strength." Paraphraseing, low
temp can halt the curing reaction (which may or may not restart when temp is
elevated, even to post cure temps) and "typically produces brittle laminates
with poor peel and bond strengths."
This information is for all epoxies used by homebuilders. Gary Hunter has
held a forum at Oshkosh the past few years, I pulled this information from a
handout at one of those forums.
