Full Flap Landings
Interesting discussion, Last summer I went to a two day mountain fly-in at
McCall Idaho and signed up with an experienced mountain flyer instructor.
We put the LNC2 through its paces and came up with a dirty configuration
circle to land stabalized approach descending at 500fpm at 70KTIS. It
stalls at 63KTIS and stops very quickly on a gravel strip with outback gear.
I was impressed with the short run. Thus I know that we can survive and
probably the plane also with that kind of emergency landing situation. I
was at about 35 gallons of fuel and two FAA bodies.
My normal approach over the numbers is about 78-80 KTIS.
