I did an alternate. to thickening the sliders to 1/4 inch. Instead, I
replaced the 1/8 inch whatever it was that was supplied with the kit with
1/8 inch Delrin. Delrin is much more rigid than the original material
and being a Dupont engineering polymer, I expect it will last well. It
has been in place now for several months and showing no wear. Even
though the rigidity of the original design was not a problem, the wear or
the original material was, and it had worn enough so the doors were not
opening enough to allow the tires to clear. I added another 1/8 inch of
height when the Delrin was put in. When the original sliders are removed
they can be used as patterns to cut and drill the Delrin. I had to get
a 20 x 48 inch sheet of the 1/8 in. Delrin so have a 16 X 48 inch piece
left over, enough to cut 4 two inch pairs. If anyone is interested, each
pair is $25.00 Bob Young RYoung03A@aol.com or oldbobyoung@juno.com.
