In regards to the fuel probes, the question was "what about the top 2 1/2 inches?" The answer has to be "it won't measure fuel there." How much fuel are we talking about? In my case I have an ES with 5 fuel bays, but the fuel probe only goes out to the end of the 4th bay. Precise measurement of the fuel quantity when almost full is very low on my priority list. I would certainly trade it any time for more accurate measurement of the bottom 2 1/2 inches. I think Mark was right - don't worry about it - but the reason is that it just won't matter. The fuel gage will read, if you follow the procedure, almost full for the highest couple of gallons and for the rest it will be a tiny bit more accurate that it would have been otherwise.
