An alternative to the 'cables/boxes':
> The system is comprised of four basic parts: A Compaq iPaq pocket
computer,
> a Garmin gps, a Qualcomm satellite phone, and the software and
cables/boxes
> to connect them and make them work together.
AvWeb has also expressed dislike with the cables/boxes. I recently
purchased their system but chose to use a 'compact flash' plug-in GPS
with a 3600 series iPac and its 'jacket' that has the compact flash slot
on the top. Now this only requires one power cable much the same as any
other hand held device which is used in an aircraft. At this point I
have not purchased the phone for weather (which will require an
additional cable I suppose) but the GPS/map setup is neat and tidy.
