Matt, concerning your gear retract problem, try cracking open one of the
high pressure (up circuit) hydraulic lines to relieve any built up
pressure.  I've done this at the sequence valve.  Retighten the fitting,
then fly and try it.  You'll see in the archives that I had a similar
problem.  The root cause was an internal leak somewhere allowing
pressure from the down side to leak to the up side.  This combined with
heating from a warm day caused the pressure to climb in the up circuit
(while on the ground) to the switch trip point causing the system to
think the gear was already retracted.  Another possible cause is the
gear minder system if you installed this from Lancair.  Mine seems to
have a problem where occasionally it refuses to allow the gear to come
up.  It also sends spurious gear warnings.  I bypassed it.  I've not had
any gear retraction problems since.
