Bob -- I tried to send the following direct, but it was rejected -- new
e-mail address??
I have used the "spacer on the axel" approach with great success for over
two years. I found some tubing that just fits over the axel, and nearly
fills up the inner bore of the wheel. It took a bit of work trimming to the
correct length so that the bearings were tight -- or better said, not loose.
About the same time I heard great things about Castrol Syntec grease. I
used that also -- so it may be the combination. It has gone through 2
annuals (pack bearings) and several checks when it was on jacks for
something else. Everything is great.
By the way, I finally ran out of Castrol Syntec grease and can't find any in
this area -- any out your way??
Regards,
martell
