Lancair is now providing a set of 4 aluminum angle brackets that attach
silicone baffling material to the front baffle of the IV and IV-P engine.

These angle brackets are not thru-bolted but, instead, are mounted with large
area washers to permit a vertical adjustment of the plates to facilitate the
fit of the silicone  material to the upper cowl.

With all the vibration up front, it is conceivable that these plates could
come loose if not thru-bolted,   SOoooo,  my question is  Has any builder
seen a need to provide a vertical adjustment for the upper silicone baffle at
the front of the engine????? Is anyone flying without these plates being
thru-bolted?  Any Problems???
