Scott, the following comment is not properly placed in this circumstance.

" Methinks you all roll over too easily"

There comes a time to stand, a time to reason and a time to resolve a
compromise so everyone is happy.  I just spent $12,000 on a beautiful paint
job and graphic scheme.  The FAA grounded my plane. I effected a compromise
that solved the problem.  The FAA is satisfied and I did not have to ruin my
aircraft.  Didn't everyone win in that circumstance?  If the issue is raised
again, heaven forbid, I don't think it will there is a record established
and I can be polite and educate the officer.  Of course when you go to
canada you will need those 12 inch plastic numbers (technically speaking
before coming back to the good old USA.)

In an earlier life I was a land use planner developing regulations and
implementing comprehensive plans.  I know the power that can be wielded,
justly or unjustly on such who try to play hardball.   My dad told me you
can always get more with honey than with vineger.  I believe that.  A
hardnose attitude in lifes usually gets a bent nose.
