Some SoCal lowrider types line their fenders edges with lights that consist
of a PVC tube, that has a 1/2" flange (for attachment), with 12 V grain of
wheat bulbs (3" apart), wired in parallel. I think it came in 6' length
($4). J C Whitney has them, but probably available in any hot rod shop.
The wires and bulbs are held in with hot melt. They can be cut to any
length, an extra bulbs my be soldered to the wires if needed in some spot.
No radio noise and can be dimmed with a Weir type dimmer or even an
expensive aircraft type rheostat. Mine are white, but might come in colors.
If you want red paint the PVC with red felt tip pen.
