Many thanks to all who offered me advice and the benefit of their
experience.

It was interesting to note that carbon fibre and Al. have a high potential
for corrosion of the Al.  I would never have thought of that.

The replies from RV types sent me searching for a friendly local RV builder
(are there any others?) and I am meeting one next week.  He will show me his
hinge installation on the cowling.  He says it is easy to do.

So once again the list has proved to be a valuable tool due to the time
people took to answer my questions.  Many thanks.
