It'll be at our hangar on Dogwood Airpark in Fredericksburg, Virginia on Saturday, September 15. Rick (Grease Lightning) Argente will once again be organizing the Great Dogwood 100 Championship Air Race, at which the winner will get a new car...wait a minute...no, Rick sez that you'll get a certificate to hang on your wall instead. No seminar, no airshow, no big deal...just a bunch of us builders kicking each other's tires, talking Lancairs...and eating...very informal. Same drill as last year, bagels and coffee in the morning, starting around 9 or so...burgers and brats for lunch. For anyone who wants or needs to stay over, we'll have beds in the house on a first come, first served basis or you can bring your sleeping bag and camp in the hangar (air conditioned, bath & shower). Dogwood (VA42) is a paved, lighted 4,000 foot private residential airport. We're about half way between Washington and Richmond, outside of class B airspace. There are trees and wires at both ends and the runway slopes up toward the west. Generally, we land on 27 (uphill), and takeoff on 9 (downhill). Our hangar is mid-runway on the South side. There is a parallel road/taxiway on the south side of the runway. It has two seperate lanes. Taxi on the lane CLOSEST to the runway, the outboard lane has limited wingtip clearance and is just used by cars. The coordinates of VA42 are: N 38 21.54 W 077 27.07 We're going to be parking Lancairs down by the taxiway, just like last year. Aircraft other than Lancairs we're going to park across the runway on the north side. Please let us know if you can make it.
