A glassair pilot supposedly died when his nylaflow brake line burst and my glassair friends who told me the story said that there was some damage to the line from brake heat but other glassairs have had problems with nylaflow (I don't know if glasair still uses it). I see your search problem. I searched the NTS databases for accidents and incidents and they are hard to get good data from. Each search link to their data bases give different search results, and their own data base is the worst - it only gave 11 total listings under Lancair! this link - http://airdisaster.com/ has a "search ntsb" tab. It gave me 37 for Lancair and 21 for the two seater. I know of other accidents though that even this search engine did not list, specifically a fatality where the aluminum flap plate on the carb airbox broke, killing the engine on takeoff. I think (Marv correct me here) Marv is working on putting these all the reports together. thanks Marv! The weight penalty for the -3 braided was ~1.5 lbs. the fittings are stainless steel, they come proof tested to 1500psi and look beautiful. the nylaflow just looked too easy to damage to me. I considered the damage potential of a fast landing bird, insurance deductibles and thought - hose might be cheap. Scott
