Picking up the landing light string of a few weeks ago, I have found
driving light from Hella which should fit nicely in the IV winglet.
It's dimension without the housing are: width 154 mm, depth 75 mm
without, 100 mm with bulb, height 54 mm, reducible to 48 mm.

You can take a look at the light pattern at the following site:
http://www.hella.com/maineng/levb/lev2ba/lev3bab/lev4babb/index.htm

The price with a 55w 12 volt halogen bulb was ca. $18.  24v 70w bulbs
are available, but you won't find them at the local gas station.  The
price is also high: ca. $27.  The units are very recent additions to
Hella's line so they might not be available yet.  I found no source in
Italy, and even in Germany, it was a special order.

There is also a fog light model which might be a nice taxi light.

As far as redundancy is concerned, who cares?  I've landed a number of
times at night with burned out landing lights (all in the cowling where
they are shaken to death), and didn't find it worrisome.  Taxiing and
finding the painted parking space numbers is another matter.
