Hi

There is available a filter that will never block or breakup and get
sucked in. It's been used for many years by the military. Next time you
are at an airshow go look closely at the air intake on the Apache helicopter.

Those rows and rows of small holes in the filter area are filled with a
small fixed "air screw" that spins the air, thereby centrifugally
removing the dirt.

Now these things are availible in larger single units and it might be
capable to match the airflow requierment of our engines. If it is, it
would mean a fit and forget item.

I'll get the info from the local manufacturer.
