Yeah probably, but I was
wondering, do you just complete the time then sign off on a form that you've
completed it, or do you have to submit your log books for inspection to the FAA
(along with a GW climb test report?) and get them to sign off? ( I hate
bureaucracy)
All we have
to do is make a note in the logbook that we've successfully completed the phase
1 flight test requirements, and that the plane has be found to be safe in
all allowed flight conditions. Some people do a better job of testing
than others, and it would certainly be possible to pencil whip that 40
hour period. With only about 25 hours in a year, I don't think I'll be
accused of that :-)
My buddy's old boss up in Northern Alberta (Fort
McMurray) is a DFTE and has long ago stated that he would love to do my
flight test as he loves experimental airplanes and really likes the rotary idea.
So rather than try to convince a local DFTE to do it I'd rather just go on a
cross-country trip and get tested by someone who really wants to do
it.
Well, that makes
sense. I'm sure it will be a piece of cake after all you've been through.
(ok, ok, I
just want to go hunting and drink a few beers:-)
Yeah, we knew what you
really meant :-)
OK now Rusty, are you going to complete
your hours before Rev XXVII ?
LOL! When I swap over to
Rev-3 next month, I'll have to fly at least 5 hours due to the major mod,
so if I manage 10 hours between now and then, I'll be done at the end of the
Rev-3 time. I certainly plan to have the time flown off so I can go to
Tracy's fly-in, and probably the Evergreen fly-in as well. Now that I
think about it, I have to do an annual along with the Rev-3
upgrade.
Cheers,
Rusty
