Hi, The atkins
intake arrived today in good shape. Ahhh, what's the green stuff on the
inside?
Beats me. It looks
like paint, and it was like that when I got it. I'm guessing that
Dave Leonard decorated it for Christmas one year
:-)
Is the bolt pattern
for the IDA Weber set up? If not, What TBs will fit, if you know?.
I believe it was for the IDA
bolt pattern, and I don't know of any other TB that will fit, but you could
probably modify an old IDA carb as nothing more than a pair of
butterflies. You'd have to add two more injectors, but there are bosses on
top of the secondary runners that are the correct spacing for a stock secondary
fuel rail. I don't really like the fact that they would be pointing
perpendicular to the airflow
though.
Do you have such
that you would like to part with?
I have one that fits,
but it's the one I'm bolting onto my engine tomorrow (hopefully, as a final
solution). Sorry.
TWM has a
throttle plate/air horn set up, but it would cost me ~$550
I feel your pain, twice
actually, since I have two
TWM TB's.
Have you tried
the injectors yet? I hope they work okay!!!
Thanks for sending those,
but I won't be trying them immediately. I'm going to start with the same
550 and 525 injectors that I was using in my last test. I know the
550's will idle fine, and I also know they're good, so I don't really want to
introduce another variable at the moment by installing questionable
injectors. Eventually, I'll probably have them tested, and try them to see
if they idle better.
In the past, my 525 MSD
injectors always seemed way leaner than the 550 Mazda injectors, but I think
that may have been due to proximity to the port, rather than the small
difference in the injectors. Now that they're both about the same
distance, I'll be interested to see how they compare. If the 525 MSD's are
still much leaner, then I'll hope the 440's you sent will even them
out.
Thanks,
Tommy the Koil
Killer---The problem continues and I may have send the EC2 back to TC for a
check up..
Have him install the LS-1
software, and I guarantee you will never kill another Mazda coil on the plane
:-)
I finished the fuel rails tonight, and
have everything set to bolt back together tomorrow. I'll at least be able
to get a ground run in, so stand by for the report tomorrow
night.
Cheers,
Rusty (must develop more rpm than Tracy
used to make)
