Greetings,

Seeing the EWP topic reminded me that I've never mentioned how my current arrangement is working.  For rev-2, I wanted to install two EWP's, but just couldn't find room for a second one.  I also needed the mechanical pump housing for alternator mounting.  I ended up installing one EWP at the inlet to the mechanical pump housing, so it's in series with the stock pump.

So far, it's all working great.  I have run both pumps (my normal flight mode), as well as the stock pump without the EWP (ground only).  So far though, I haven't tried the EWP without the stock pump.  I'm sure this isn't going to be a problem, but I've put it on my list of things to get around to.  I'll just pull off the alt belt the next time I do a ground run, and make sure cooling is still OK.  The other thing I haven't experimented with is the effect on cooling between having the EWP on and off.  That's on the list as well.  I've got too much water cooling in cruise, so maybe turning off the EWP will help, though I would prefer to leave it on all the time as a full time backup.

Cheers,
Rusty (one of each)
