Congratulations on an "excellent" landing, Todd!
I was
right with you in that pilot seat as I read you're write-up.
Thankfully you obviously did a lot right, so we are able to get the story
and learn from it.
One
thought that comes to mind is the digital readouts. EM2 gives you LOTS of good
information, but right brained people don't tend to absorb or process digital
info very easily or quickly. All that info is great for the long term, but not
so good during an emergency. Right now I have a panel full of analog gauges, and
I'm getting to the point where my scan tells me if something is out of line. My
boost is controlled with a manual push-pull, and I've been keeping it all the
way off til I get some height. I mention this only because I know a few others
are approaching first flight with turbos. I say if you don't need it, don't use
it.
Now
that you're safely back on the ground I hope you don't mind if we kick the
issues around and attempt to learn safety lessons from them. I'd also like to
repost you're message on the Canardaviation.com forum where there are several
pusher rotarians, if that's ok.
Regards.
