I know what you are going through as I just did a re-build myself. Thanks Dave; As I read your saga, I kept thinking that I felt bad for you, but was sure glad it didn't happen to me. Now it has. I wonder if Rusty got one of them girl hockey players to shove a puck up my tail-pipe.. would that do it? I probably deserve it for reposting them pics. Extremely curious to hear what caused the detonation and what you now feel are safe boost limits. Please don't forget to comment on what fuel you were using. I'll write up another e-mail detailing the flight and what I feel were the probable causes as I can imagine that all other turbo guys will want to know. There have been a ton of engines and 13B parts on e-bay lately. Don't forget to look there for parts. I just got a quality front plate for $100 and a set of 4 injectors for $88 - not to mention an auto flex plate for $1. There is (or was) a low time TT engine going for about $600. Good Luck, Dave Leonard I'm definitely going to buy Tracy's apex seals, but I'm waiting for the local Mazda shop to phone me back with prices for the other rebuild kit parts. I try to give the local shops my business (keep the money in the local economy and all that crap), but if the prices don't even come close then I'll order out. Tracy has rebuild kits now available so I may just buy everything there. If I need to replace the rotor and end plate I'll check with e-bay as you suggest. RX-7 specialties in Calgary is another likely source. S.
