Didn't make sense to Burt either.  IIRC he's the one who found out (much to
his chagrin) and raised the alarm in the first place.  Lots and LOTS of
verbiage about it in the canard lists.
But thin SS plate and short headers might work well .... Jim S.
PS  also, don't give up on ALL carbon fiber manifold until you've researched
heat sensitivity.
