I used to think the same
thing (draggy airfoil) but I think the problem with RVs over 220 is
related to wing / tail / fuselage incidence. At 220 I get
the visual impression that I am in a dive during level flight.
Ever thought about reflexing the
flaps a bit to knock off some of the extra lift of the wing. Sure you have
:-)
The early Citation jets
used the same airfoil as the lowly RV.
Yeah, but aren't they the butt of
every slow jet joke

What does Dave Anders do to
go so fast? Is it just attention to detail for a clean airframe, or does
he have some real secret to rigging the plane?
