Welcome Thom,

You're actually one of the lucky ones, who didn't have to go to counseling to try to forget the horrific image of BUC.  The first iteration of my RV-3 cowl got way out of control.  I bought a radiator that was way too big, added a turbo I had no room for, and used an off-the-shelf intake that was far taller than the top of the cowl.  I wasted a full 2 week vacation modifying a stock cowl to fit around all this mess, and the results were disturbing to say the least.  I started referring to the resulting offense as the Big Ugly Cowl, or BUC, and it got adopted as a name.  I considered that rev-1, with rev-2 being the current setup (stock, bump free cowl).  The recent rev-3 messages refer to the next iteration, where I install a -C drive and larger prop.

BTW, BUC is long gone, and I even made the local EAA webmaster remove the pictures.  BUC is best forgotten, which is of course why John is teasing me about the tee shirts :-)

Cheers,
Rusty (John better hold those tee shirts until he see the tracking number for his turbo)
