I laid out my flight plan that said the first three flights would be restricted to the traffic pattern. My first flight lasted 4 1/2 minutes, once around the pattern due to high oil temps. Some folks advocate getting up and away, but I think sticking close to the nest for the first couple of flights worked well for me.
