You're right.
Don't think it's so much a temperature issue as the pounding it
takes.
I suspect Tracy chose nylon for that reason.
In one of my RD-1C PSRUs (could have been the RV-3B) there was no
end play. In other words, incorrect thickness or installed
wrongly.

The nylon or teflon washer supplied just melted. I
thought I nailed it with a fix using the oil-embedded,
but I guess not.
I think in Tracey's documentation, he called it a
snubber ? Any ideas what I can use, or why this happens?
