Dave,
There are many on the forum more "computer Savvy" than I .............Did you purchase your redrive and EC2 from Tracy and do you have the instruction and installation manuals
that he provided to customers ?..........Was this a first start attempt or have you had it running before ?.............Also what is the aircraft your 13B is installed on ?..........If you did all
the wiring from EC2 to the engine and this was a first start attempt I would use the wiring schematic and trace every wire to verify proper placement as a start............I you find any
wire in the wrong place that would be a good place to start troubleshooting for possible "smoked components"...........Keep us apprised of what you find...........Good hunting.........

Best Regards,

I would suggest you check the circuit board yourself. it may just be a simple component that needs replacing.
I only say this as I did let the smoke escape also, which resulted in an education on the workings, that, in reality I would have preferred to stay ignorant about, but none the less am glad I undertook.
My experience was a valuable lesson in never to return to the hangar after consuming alcohol. In the dim light I hooked the battery up backwards, resulting in the inevitable result and an adventure in finding the source of the smoke and checking every other component for damage. Luckily my EC2 was ok but the electric CS prop controller was not built as rigorous.

Dear Kelly,
I have been following the fly rotary letters and comments for awhile. Not sure what I am suppose to do to post my own request. Perhaps you can assist me. I have a 13b with the Tracy Crooks PSRU and the EC2 engine controller. The problem is I think I have mortally wounded the EC2 controller and perhaps the igniter coils as well. (Wire shorted )
All 4 igniter coils now appear to be open circuits (infinite ohms) and the EC2 is not pulsing the coil signals are now ON constantly. Is their anyone doing repair work on the EC2 controllers (serial #283 AX) has backup crank sensor.  Pulses for the injectors are also missing.
I would greatly appreciate any referral.
