Then I removed the wastegate and the stock wastegate hole is about the size of a dime. The cover is about the size of a dollar coin (Loonie, up here in Canada). I then used a die grinder to open up the hole to within 1/16" of the coverage of the gate. On the inside I took care to open it up even further to have a smooth inflow path. I didn't change the bushings on the shaft. I've never had any trouble controlling boost with that. But the new one that I've got coming will have an even larger hole without a new larger gate.
