Bill,
I believe that it is the 2= nd firewall forward that they produced.  The radiator is in the standa= rd Powersport position back near the firewall laying at about a 45 degree a= ngle.  The builder actually flew the airplane for a couple hundred hou= rs fairly successfully and we don't recall him complaining of cooling issue= s.  We are cleaning up the cooling system with hopes that it's a simpl= e fix.  It runs like a top, so hopefully we can get it flying reliably= .

Thanks,

 Hi Ryan,

I hope = you dont have the same issue that I did.  When I first got my engine r= unning, I was using a "brand new" engine from Atkins rotary that had been s= ittiing around for several years both before and after I purchased it.

When I first got it running, the coolant would quickly= overheat, while the radiator was not even warm to the touch.  I fear = you may have this issue because you said you plan to replace water pump and= re-purge.  These were also my initial steps.
Unfortunately, it turns out that during the idle years, the ca= st iron side housings' coolant passages had rusted solid preventing the cir= culation of coolant.
