Hi Todd, that flight was out of Carp (CYRP) up the Ottawa River northwest of the city; I think the OAT was about -5C that day ... In this area you can land on any lake during the entire month of Feb and into late March; as the air warms up the ice stays good for weeks but once it starts to break up it goes out fast.  Guys get caught trying to go on the ice early or trying to get days in too late in the season ... you have to know the conditions.

Hi Jeff;
   Thanks for the video. Where is this? Airport?, River?
I think I recall that you were based out in Ontario somewhere. Funny to see all the trucks parked out on the ice. Out here I've never seen that as we just use snowmobiles, but I was aware that in other places it is common as we've all heard stories of trucks going through the ice. Ice bridges used to be common here years ago on forest service roads, but are quite rare nowadays.
What was the OAT?
