All the FD 3rd gen (TT) engine turbo exhaust parts are Inconel, even the nuts, studs, and bolts. The manifold is cast Inconel, I was told way back. FYIW. Expensive to source replacements.

Inconel? Really?

I did a similar cut and welded it together with SS rod and my Henrob 2000.
I think I used the insert as the 45* elbow.
(the PVC pipe has been replaced with 0.036 SS pipe)

Can anyone tell m,e the exact metal used in the stock exhaust manifold?  I have cut one in half to reverse the direction and it appears to be S/S outer with inconel inserts.   It will help to know before I weld back together with the correct rod.  As shown the weight is now approx 10 lbs and I am impressed with the build of the manifold, --- much better than my version, and will be not much heavier.
