The plastic oil lines for the oil metering system - has anyone come up with
a way to replace the plastic with aluminum lines?

During my first flight I developed a small exhaust leak at the manifold that directed a jet of hot exhaust gases directly at my oil lines, melting them right down to the pump. I could faintly smell burning oil, but there was no evidence of a roaring-out-of-control-fire. I looked into replacing these lines with metal but found no readily available solutions, so I ran the new lines inside firesleeve (and repaired the exhaust leak). One advantage to the clear lines is that during pre-flight (with cowl off), I visually check to ensure these lines are full of oil. This is no guarantee that oil is actually flowing, but it is still worth checking.
