Rusty's mount is just a smaller version of this design. It addresses all the = issues with the original mount with the addition of another mount point, two diagonal braces, and two shorter tubes welded to the gear sockets to = solve the tortional socket twist problems. The gear leg geometry is much more robust than stock mount. Fred=20 =20 Have I mentioned that Fred's mounts are worth the money :-) =20 Unfortunately, I can vouch for the strength of the gear. During the = first few flights, I stress tested the landing gear with a number of full = stall landings from about 2-3 ft. It's amazing how much lower the RV-3 is = than my old RV-8.
