Hi, Neil....thanks for your suggestions.  Probably the easiest mod for me to
make would be to install a 1/4 NPT plug in the top of the elbow (highest
point in the system).  It would probably be fairly easy to finish filling
the final pint or less with a small hose inserted into that hole.  Not
exactly sure what you mean by a bleed valve. Is this similar to the bleed
valve that is normally on the lower tank in a radiator in most cars, and
used for draining the coolant from the radiator, or flushing the radiator?
