Paul,
I'm anxious to run mine again, but I have to get the finishing done first.
I'm building mine at my house. I have a barn, with an open area about 25 X
45 where the plane is, and a heated/cooled workshop next to that about 16 X
25. Right now the wings are on, so there is no way to get it out of the
barn.
After I get it primed and painted, take it outside and reassemble it. I
live out in the country, so I can do some extensive run-ups, and do the
tuning on the controller, before moving it to the airport.
When I had it running back in November, I actually taxied it up and down the
driveway. That was a real thrill. The drive is paved and about 250' long
from the house to the road. I had to make the U turn on the grass, but it
did pretty good with that also. There weren't any wings on it then either.
I'm going to paint the inside with Zolotone, but other than 4 seat cushions,
that will be the only interior to start with. I'll work on it more after
it's up and flying.
The Fly ins sound great, and you're right about a few rotaries in canards
generating interest. I do know of at least 3 other Cozy builders that are
in process of installing a rotary. One of them, Joe Hull, should be flying
by fall this year.

Thanks for the well-wishes, Steve. I'm very happy to hear there is yet
another Cozy MKIV (besides John Slade) that will soon be taking to the air
with a rotary engine. I can't wait for a few of us to get together and
attend a fly-in with a few rotary canards. That should spark some interest
in the rotary, and possibly get a few more in the works. Please keep us
updated on your progress. I really think that things go faster after the
engine has been run. I know it did on my LongEZ. Once the engine had been
run, I just HAD to fly it, so I found myself spending more time working on
it so that it could fly. Take care and thanks again. Paul Conner
