Hi
Folks,
Update on
Max. He has decided that due to the nasty weather and conditions at and
between Greenland and Europe to abandon this attempt to go further at this
time. So he’s hopping a big bird to his home in Austria and plans to come
back later when weather conditions are favorable for both a thorough testing of
his aircraft there in Greenland and also good for the rest of the trip to
Austria.
Apparently
from what I understood him to say, he normally does hangar his bird and
therefore had not experience the results of leaving it out overnight in heavy
rain. Also he indicated that he believes his fuel sump design needs to be looked
at as he never finds water when he tests. He still has confidence in
the rotary engine – but has to figure out how to ensure no water remains in his
fuel tanks.
I know you
join me in cheering Max’s effort even if it is temporarily suspended and wishing
him a fast and safe trip home.
