Hi
Folks,
I have some
news that I think would be of interest to the Rotary Crowd. Some of you
may know/remember Max Lassache (Austrian born) who flew to Sun & Fun from
New York state several times in his rotary powered wooden bird (can’t recall the
make).
Well,
Max is set to fly the Atlantic back to Austria here in a couple of weeks in his
rotary powered bird - if all goes as planned. He has a 13B with
Tracy’s EC2 (early, early version), redrive and my EFISM fuel management
system. I am not certain, but I think this will be a first for a rotary
powered aircraft.
He has
carefully planned the trip and done a lot of test flight to accurate calibrate
for fuel burn and distance (carrying aux fuel tank in cockpit), changed his oil
and carefully look it over for metal, spark plugs, etc. So, he called me
today to let me know that weather permitting he would probably start his trip
over Labor day week end.
I know you
will all join me in wishing Max a safe and speedy trip.
